Vanilla and lavender are tried and true aromas that appeal to almost everyone, but when it comes to conjuring the crisp cascade breezes of Central Oregon at home, I look to the trees. Fir, sage, pine and juniper from diffusers, candles or room sprays can immerse your senses in nature.

I recently hung bundles of eucalyptus in each shower of a client's Caldera Springs vacation home, and even when it’s not steamy, the woodsy scent conjures relaxation. Introducing even a touch of cedar in closets and drawers is not only good for your clothes but provides a rich, earthy scent.
