“One of my all-time favorite courses,” Breaking Eighty founder and blogger Sean Ogle calls Crosswater at Sunriver Resort. In the article Sunriver Resort Golf: The Ultimate Northwest Destination, he documents his stay, which included rounds of golf at the award-winning Crosswater and Woodlands courses, plus a romantic getaway with his wife and a family escape with the kids. He created a video documenting his time on Crosswater, as well as the course’s towering trees, meandering rivers and snow-capped mountain views.

“One course sums up Pacific Northwest golf better than any other,” Ogle says of Crosswater. Beyond golf, Ogle says, “Hands down, there simply isn’t a place with more to do than Sunriver Resort.” He dined at the resort’s signature restaurants and visited Cove Aquatic Center, which he says exceeded his expectations, with its water slide, lazy river, hot tub and bar. He floated the Deschutes River, visited nearby Cultus Lake, rode bikes, hiked and strolled through the wilderness. “Golf, pickleball, spa, pools, stables, marina, biking, hiking—I could literally go on like this for pages.”
Factoring in the close proximity to Bend, located 15 miles away, and the Redmond airport, less than 45 minutes away, “You have a flexible, accessible and absolutely beautiful resort destination that features world-class golf in a casual environment,” Ogle says.
